There are Many online ads about Tree Services particularly in the area that I live in, Pasco County They all claim to be " Certified Arborists " . This is a certification given by the International Society of Arboriculture. It is the only organization that teaches that course you need to take to be able to take the exam . You cannot get a certification from your local college. Although I have heard that some of them are starting to offer the course. I had a woman ask me " Are you licensed and insured " and asked to see my paperwork to prove it, and she asked me if I was a Certified Arborist and I said yes I am but she never asked to see my certification . So make sure you ask for that. And if you go to the ISA's website www.isa-arbor.com/home.aspx . You can look up every Cert arborist in your area.
So what is the difference you ask? Well its like taking your car to get it fixed to a friend of yours that said he has worked on them before. You don't want to trust your tree's to an unqualified individual or at least I wouldn't . Trees nicely trimmed up properly and professionally by a qualified Certified Arborist will add value to your home . I have people call me for an estimate and tell me that a certain person or tree service told them that the tree was dying and that they needed to get it removed as soon as possible and I swear I would look at these tree's and they are perfectly healthy.
